Winter Reminders!

CITY OF HARTLEY WINTER REMINDERS

STREET PARKING:  Parking is prohibited on any street, alley or City-owned off-street parking area during snow removal operations unless the snow has been removed or plowed and the snow has stopped falling.  The fine for violation of this ordinance is $50.

SIDEWALKS:  The abutting property owner shall remove accumulations of snow and ice promptly from sidewalks, within 48 hours after the snow or ice has stopped, or the City may do so and assess a cost of $150 to the property owner.  

It is the responsibility of the abutting property owner to maintain their sidewalks in a safe and hazard-free condition, free from snow or ice; the property owner may be personally liable for damages caused by failure to maintain the sidewalk.
